Our Breeding Dogs
Tervuren Shepherds are the centerpiece of FlowerPowerVT. They are fully health checked and registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC), and enjoy a diet of top-quality food with regular portions of organic farm-raised chicken and eggs. Their health and happiness is our utmost priority.
Pups are birthed in a custom-built area of our home. From their earliest days, they are surrounded by family, helpers, barnyard pets and a steady stream of farm visitors. We carefully stimulate them to assure confidence in socialization. They nurse from the dam for six weeks, and are off to homes at around 8 weeks once registered with the AKC. Bloodlines are carefully tracked and some litters are bred with outside AKC-registered sires to add diversity to the line.
Pups are evaluated and placed with homes according to temperament and color preference. The farm would certainly assist in rehoming any puppy. Visitors to the farm are welcome.

Zinnia
AKC #DN49587205 | Date of Birth 4/29/17
Zinnia is the daughter of star and Iko, and has inherited their gorgeous long coat red/mahogany in color, exactly what the Belgian Shepherd Tervuren is noted for. She is quite intelligent: she can open gates and doors! Like any terv, she is a sweet and loving snuggler. She has a warm smile and a twinkle in her eye.
Zinnia has an OFA hip x-ray good rating, and weighs approximately 50 pounds, Close in size to her mother Star; A medium-sized girl for the breed standard. She loves hiking and swimming off-leash at Lake Champlain, and is a genuine happy soul.
Dahlia

Our largest female, dahlia, has a gorgeous long red/black mahogany coat and weighs close to 60 pounds . She has a refined structure and a Beautiful Black face, forward facing years. Luna's daughter, she is assertive yet gentle and dear. She loves attention and A good scratch behind the ears. Her 0FA hip X- ray is good, like her mother and father Iko.
Dalia is our guardian Tervuren, always on the lookout and happy to tell us when friends arrive.
Sugar Magnolia
AKC #DN48721208 | Date of Birth 2/9/2017
Sugar magnolia, as we fondly call her, has a gleaming silver coat with black accent, long and full. She has a powerful Tervuren build, and is ready and willing to engage in any activity: swimming, hiking, running, with a smile. Her OFA hip x-ray is good rating.
Magnolia's beautiful thick long coat and energetic spirit reminds us of her noble mother Maybelline. She has an alpha Belgian Shepherd personality, and the other girls cater to her when she is present.
Mercury is her father—our large gentle boy, and we often take the two swimming together. Maggie loves people and is a joy to befriend!
Orion

Orion is our fourth generation male, featuring direct lineage from our foundation sire Iko, son of champions. He is medium size, 60 pounds, with a thick mahogany coat ( red with black overlay ) and a long black mane is growing with his age. Orion has good rating on his OFA hip x-ray, elbows normal.
He enjoys lots of playtime with his mother Ursa the Honeybear, and loves to swim! He has a happy spirit. We love his stature; alert, strong and willing to join us in any activity.
Silver Star

Silverstar is a medium sized sable female with a beautiful long double coat. Her black face stands out, and her long fur is soft, cozy and moves with the wind.
Her 0FA hip x-ray tests are excellent, and she has a drive for herding. Star enjoys all the dogs on the farm, she is amiable, intelligent and observant. Gorgeous confident puppies come from Star, both mahogany and sable, and feature long silky coats.
Mercury

Mercury is a strong, confident sable AKC registered Belgian Tervuren with a confident personality. His OFA hips and elbow tests are of good rating and he weighs approximately 70 pounds, a large guy!
His silver coat is thick with a striking black overlay which darkens yearly. Mercury is very friendly, and loves to pull our son Tim for skateboard rides! He also loves to run through the woods; his large stride makes him a beautiful sight to behold
Ursa The Honeybear

Ursa was born here on the farm, with her mother Josephine and her grandmother Foxy Lady aiding in her upbringing. She is calm, gentle, obedient and loving, with a stunning dark face and a full mahogany coat; fire red colors and black veil. She is the mother of our stunning sire Orion. Hip X-ray good rating.
Ursa is 47 pounds, medium size, and has had wonderful proven litters. She is truly the Honeybear, a loving attentive snuggler, a wonderful mother to her pups. Ursa meets all breed standards with perfection.
Legacy Dogs
We find retired dogs are a benefit with the training of puppies, and they are welcome companions for the breeding females. The dogs help us fill our farmhouse with liveliness and joy, and we certainly do everything we can to provide a wonderful existence for them. We are grateful to our local veterinarians for their assistance as well.
